Hi, I’m Alexandra Ellis.

and I teach active people how to get stronger and out of pain.

I’ve been teaching injury prevention, rehabilitation and wellness for the last decade. And it’s not fluff – my degree is in Exercise Biology from UC Davis and I have thousands of hours of anatomy training.

In our first session, I’ll assess your posture and movement and build a movement plan that is fully customized to your goals and needs.

We’ll meet virtually each week to further refine your plan and work through anything that comes up.

Between sessions, you’ll do your mobility workout plan and targeted body-weight workouts for your hips, shoulders, core, posture, and spine.

I’m super busy and am worried I’ll fall behind. How can I know that I’ll be able to keep up?

The busier you are, the more important it is to have a program that’s super easy to follow. And since your AmplifyU Plan won’t take you more than 15-mins a day, you’ll actually have more time to do what you love (since you won’t be wasting any time doing boring stretches that don’t really work).

You’re busy.

That’s why the Movement Mavens Experience was built with one thing in mind:
Implementation.

The steps are laid out as clear as possible, plus you have access to me anytime you need so you’ll never be at a loss for what to do again. 

Our coaching sessions are 45 – 60 mins every other week.

In between, you’ll spend 15-mins a few times a week to do your body maintenance and a longer block at least once a week for a workout. 

But you have to make the time to do the work. If you are not in a place where that is possible, I can’t wave a magic wand and get you moving. 

 

Will the Movement Mavens Experience really work for me? I’ve tried everything (and nothing lasts).

My goal is to teach you how to take back of your body.

I want you to become your own Body Detective – someone who is curious about the body AND has the answers and solutions for whatever might come up.

To be honest, my goal is for you to not need me by the time our sessions are done because you’ll be so confident in your ability to maintain your body.

Can’t I just stretch more?

Stretching doesn’t reteach your brain and body how to move without pain.

Muscle feel “tight” because they’re bracing – they tighten up because of one of a few reasons: overuse, underuse, misuse or injury.

Just stretching doesn’t help rebalance your body or help you train for a pain-free life.

My signature process and coaching teaches you how to use mobilizations and activations to release tension, build strength, and enjoy life without pain.

Which means you’ll be more ready for whatever comes your way – ready to run, ready to hike, ready to get back to working out. 

Will getting stronger actually make that much of a difference?

Getting stronger is one of the #1 things you can do to injury proof your body.

The Movement Mavens Experience focuses on bodyweight movements so you can move well throughout your day.

By mastering the basics of good movement first, you’ll be able to give your body the stability it needs.

We can also develop an appropriate weight training program as you progress. 

Won’t chiropractic and PT be better to get me to pain-free?

Instead of spending $320/month waiting to see your chiropractor, hoping that the adjustment actually sticks this time, and dreading the discomfort you know you’ll feel in between – imagine knowing exactly what to do in the moment for relief.

Because pain is a matter of when, not if.

And while yes, I totally support seeing a chiropractor or PT when you’re in pain and need it, depending on them for regular maintenance is like going to the dentist weekly for a cleaning instead of brushing your teeth.

A little bit everyday is not only enough to maintain your body so you can forget about soreness, tension and pain, it’s a requirement if you want to feel this way for good.

I’ve never done virtual coaching - how will I know that I’m doing it right?

True motor learning comes from having the time and space to reflect and practice.

But I also know how overwhelming it all can be in the beginning which is why we start with a Mobility Assessment for me to gauge your current flexibility and determine where to start. 

We will meet on video so I can see how you’re moving and help you refine your form even more.

Will there be times where your form is off? Yes. 

But learning how to fix mistakes for yourself (instead of being told by a trainer standing over you) gives you brain a chance to actually learn the movement.

Which means you also will know how to move well without getting hurt, no matter where you are.

What if I decide I don't like it?

There are no contracts and you can cancel at any time.
